Atlanta Docufest Submissions

​Submission copies should be submitted on FilmFreeway via an online screener. Please be sure to include a password if required. 

Programming decisions are made by the festival directors and our selection committee. If accepted, we will notify filmmakers via FilmFreeway. Please respond as soon as possible.

After acceptance, the exhibition format will need to be in our office two weeks before the festival. We do not pay rental fees for submitted work that is programmed.

Although the art of filmmaking is not competitive, Atlanta DocuFest does give accolades to films selected as best in various categories: Best Documentary Feature and Short, Best Director, Best Foreign Documentary, Best Student film, Best Local Film,  and many others. View the awards page.

We can only offer entry fee waivers to festival alumni. If you are an alumni with a new project you would like to enter, please email us with the subject line Docufest alumni fee waiver
